Belle en het Beest (Engels: Beauty and the Beast) is een Amerikaanse animatiefilm uit 1991 van Walt Disney Pictures. De film is gebaseerd op het gelijknamige volksverhaal Belle en het Beest van Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont. De film is geregisseerd door Gary Trousdale en Kirk Wise.
Het scenario van de film kwam van Linda Woolverton, de muziek van Alan Menken en de liedjestekst van Howard Ashman. Het verhaal in de Disney-film wijkt op enkele punten af van het originele volksverhaal. De film werd een groot succes.
Beauty and the Beast is a 1991 American animated musical romantic fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The 30th film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, the film is based on the traditional French fairy tale of the same name by Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont Additionally, it is also the third film in the Disney Renaissance period. Starring Paige O'Hara and Robby Benson, Beauty and the Beast focuses on the relationship between the Beast (Benson), a prince who is magically transformed into a monster as punishment for his arrogance, and Belle (O'Hara), a young woman who he imprisons in his castle. To become a prince again, the Beast must love Belle and win her love in return, or he will remain a Beast forever. The film also features the voices of Richard White, Jerry Orbach, David Ogden Stiers, and Angela Lansbury, who occupy supporting roles.
